Glee main characters not returning for Season 4?
Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that after the end of the current 3rd season of Glee, three of the leading characters, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer would be “graduating” and leaving the show. Murphy also confirmed that Michele, Monteith and Colfer would not be the only cast members “graduating” this upcoming May. In the interview he didn’t say who else would be leaving the show, but did say that all would be revealed on the Glee Season 3 premiere September 20th on FOX.
The reason that Murphy gave for the casting change up was for the authenticity of the show. He told The Hollywood Reporter:
“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”
Murphy has not confirmed who will replace the characters once they exit the show.
