Cher is recording a Lady Gaga song
Cher took to her Twitter not only to reveal that she was back in the studio, but that she just finished recording a song written by Lady Gaga!
The music legend tweeted:
“Just walked in from the studio! I Finished 1st track on new cd &……..”GAGA” “YOU ARE THE GREATEST THING TO ME.”
This caused quite a commotion and had everyone speculating if Cher and Gaga had recorded a duet. Cher cleared up the confusion on Twitter:
“It’s not a duet ! Who knows? I did hold her “Meat Purse” haha! One can wish! It’s one of her songs & she & Redone gave it to me 4 my cd!”
Cher also confirmed the name of the song, The Greatest Thing, on Twitter.
This is not the first time that Lady Gaga has given or written songs for other artists. Awhile back, a demo of Britney Spears singing the Gaga hit, Telephone, hit the internet. Spears and her team decided not to use the song, so Gaga released it as her own.
Most recently Gaga wrote two songs on Jennifer Lopez’s newest album, Love. But Cher, being the icon that she is, will surely take Gaga’s writing skills to a whole new level. I’m sure I’m not the only one dying with anticipation to hear what the finished track sounds like. Who wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to duet with Cher, so hopefully this song will lead to a Cher/ Gaga duet!
