Paul McCartney’s 9-11 documentary will air on 9/10/2011
The Love We Make, the documentary which follows Paul McCartney through New York City after the infamous 9/11 attacks, will debut on Showtime a day before the 10-year anniversary.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that McCartney was in NYC the day of the attacks and witnessed the event first hand. The documentary also shows the planning of the performances for the benefit concert, The Concert for New York City, that took place after the attacks.
McCartney said of the concert: “There was a feeling of shock and fear in the air that I thought we could help alleviate with music, and the fact that so many people stepped up to join us made for a very uplifting evening for us all.”
Other performers included David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, Jay Z and Elton John. As interesting as this documentary seems, I don’t think it’s very patriotic to have a Brit host a documentry about America’s greatest tragedy. At the same time it goes to show that 9/11 affected the entire world and not just those in this country. Your thoughts?
