Dita Von Teese: A spectacle of glamour
Dita Von Teese, typically designated the “Queen of Burlesque”, revealed earlier this year that she will be launching her very own signature scent, and now has come forward with some more details about it.
Validating rumors that she was in the works to develop the new fragrance, in February Dita tweeted, “isolated at a chateau in the French countryside w/my perfumers,” promising that there would be no “fruit, no vanilla, no candy!!” Instead Dita said it would include a “velvet sensuality w/a dash of vulgarity!” She quickly followed with, “I want to evoke passion with fragrance….intense love/lust and distaste/fear rather than merely popular acceptance.”
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily very recently, Dita disclosed the scent would involve “a lot of luscious flowers – Bulgarian rose, tiare, peony – and there’s a sexy wood”, also adding “There’s no fruity vanilla bull—t. I’m sorry, but you know what I mean? A lot of celebrity fragrances are fruit, vanilla, and I wanted something for grown-up girls.”
Dita’s perfume is supposed to launch with her new line of lingerie in Australia sometime this fall, but will roll out internationally early next year.
