The full tracklist for the soundtrack to the FOOTLOOSE remake has been released.
It’s bad enough that I had to live through Jaden Smith’s ruining of THE KARATE KID with an unnecessary remake, which, to this day, pisses me off just to think about it. But the FOOTLOOSE remake is just as bad. Is it Hollywood’s goal to just anger and frustrate me once a year by making a remake that no one’s calling for of a movie that meant a lot to my childhood?
To make matters even worse, they’re remaking the soundtrack that goes along with the remake, tarnishing the great soundtrack legacy of Kenny Loggins by having THE VOICE co-host and country singer Blake Shelton covering the 80s classic that always has you wanting to kick off your Sunday shoes the moment those opening drum beats start up. Oh, the horror!!!
Entertainment Weekly revealed the entire track list for Paramount’s remake soundtrack, and, in addition to a bunch of the original’s favorites all redone by modern artists no one will remember in three years, there’s a bunch of new songs incorporated to replace the likes of Shalamar’s “Dancing In The Sheets.” And is that Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice covering “Almost Paradise” with some other country artist I’ve never heard of? This just makes me sad inside.
1. Footloose – Blake Shelton
2. Where The River Goes – Zac Brown
3. Little Lovin’ – Lissie
4. Holding Out For A Hero – Ella Mae Bowen
5. Let’s Hear It For The Boy – Jana Kramer
6. So Sorry Mama – Whitney Duncan
7. Fake I.D. – Big & Rich feat. Gretchen Wilson
8. Almost Paradise – Victoria Justice & Hunter Hayes
9. Walkin’ Blues – Cee Lo Green feat. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
10. Window Paine – The Smashing Pumpkins

I had been wondering who would cover the most famous movie song – ever. I loved the original soundtrack, but this one looks like a big pile of poo. I might watch the remake anyway, just to compare.
