Rebecca Black at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood last night, eating good!
Everyone in the country likes to make fun of Rebecca Black and her YouTube hit “Friday,” but unfortunately for her, the kids at school just won’t let it drop.
Rebecca Black, 14, has reportedly been bullied so badly she’s dropped out of her school and will be home schooled by her mother from here on out.
Speaking to Dateline, Black described the taunting that went on at school: “When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice. Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’ “
“I’ve had a lot of experience with not being liked and all that. I think if I hadn’t had to deal with that in the past then I totally would have handled this differently and I would have gone down in burning flames. But I’ve learned that you just can’t let it get to you.
“I was bullied all the time in school. I don’t know what was so different about me that made people want to pick on me. I thank those people because if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be here right now. I would probably still be sitting at home crying. I’ve dealt with that my whole life.”
Rebecca adds, “I laugh at them now.”
Ok, she’s annoying, we all agree on that, but she’s only 14. All 14-year-olds are annoying little twits. But you can’t fault the girl for getting out there and doing what she loves and for having the drive that she does. Of course she’s also had mommy and daddy’s money (and auto tune) to help her along the way. But from here on out she is going to need a lot more than that. Good luck girl, because you are going to need it.
