Gwyneth Paltrow partially looking down upon you.
Gwyneth Paltrow reveals a list of things she can’t live without in the newest issue of Elle Decor.
To this day, I’ve been a Gwyneth Paltrow fan. Even though she was a part of SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE beating out SAVING PRIVATE RYAN for the Best Picture Oscar, I still enjoy her films (well, maybe not COUNTRY STRONG), and I even can handle her singing. Plus, I still find her ridiculously attractive, even if her naked body is crying out for a sandwich, and I’m not going to lie… that factors into a lot of decisions I make in my life. But there are times when Gwyneth Paltrow is pretentious as hell that I start to wonder how I can find someone who named their kid Apple and married the lead singer of Coldplay attractive. (Listen to Coldplay, yes… Marry them, are you kidding me?)
Case in point… Gwyneth passed along a short list of the things she can’t live without for the September issue of Elle Decor, and here’s a sampling of her musts and needs:
- De Gournay Hand-Painted Wallpaper – “I indulged with one wall in my London living room covered in a gorgeous pattern.
- Seasonal Flowers – “I like single-variety arrangements—peonies, hydrangeas, and white lilies—casually arranged.”
- Darren Almond’s Photography - “His arresting, large-scale artwork brings a sense of majesty to a room.”
- Charles Edwards Star Lanterns – “I hung three of these at different levels in the stair hall so that we could pass them on our way up to bed at night.”
- Antonio Lupi Baia Tub - “It’s in the middle of my bedroom—perfect for a relaxing wind-down and for bathing the kids.”
- Juxtaposed: Religion Shelf - “Built-in slots hold holy books—including the Qur’an, Bible, and Tao Te Ching—all at the same level (which is how I like to think about religion).”
- Clothbound Penguin Classics - “These gorgeous editions make the books so tempting to pick up, again and again. The ultimate cure for sore muscles.”
- YUBZ Retro Handset - “A handset cuts down on cellphone radiation. I use this one for my BlackBerry calls.”
Now let me give you an idea of some of the things I can’t live without, none of which can be found on Gwyneth’s list:
- A Working Fridge
- Toilet Paper
- Wireless Internet
- Door Knobs
There’s plenty more where that came from, but I didn’t think an item-by-item breakdown of my living quarters was necessary. Yet somehow I make due without Darren Almond’s photography. However do I manage?
