Bachelor Pad Season 2, Week 3 RECAP

ABC’s Bachelor Pad, Jake vs. Kasey, Season 2, Week 3

Week three’s episode of Bachelor Pad was still high drama (of course, what do you expect with a house full of drama queens?) and it started off with Jake Pavelka trying like hell to flip the house and get them to vote Kasey out, instead of himself.

Erica, who had an eggs-ceptionally tough time during week 2, thought it would be a good idea to partner up with Jake being as she really has no allies in the house. It’s not easy being voted least attractive. Since Jake needs the votes, he decides a relationship with Erica might help to further him in the game. I doubt he knew what he was in for. Jake said he’d do whatever it takes to stay in the game, and that meant making out with the silver spooned, flounder faced, reality princess. This probably won’t come as a surprise to you, but Jake doesn’t exactly have the greatest taste in women.

Onto Michael and Holly, the couple who dated for two years and were briefly engaged before Holly called it off and they broke up. Michael, still in love with Holly and unknowingly playing the fool, gave her a rose on his group date. Poor guy. It’s pretty apparent that Holly still loves him but also realizes that he’s won’t make her happy ultimately. You can tell Michael is trying to hold onto his dignity but can’t hide the fact that he is beyond crushed and probably screwed in the head for life.

Cue Bret Michaels and ‘Every Rose Has it’s Thorn’. Bret pulls up in his tour bus and tells the couple: “I’d love to do ‘Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.’”

“Really?!” squeals Michael, who really should simmer down with the white boy dance moves. He jerked around like a marionette with tangled strings when he first saw Bret. Michael and Holly bask in Bret’s glory as he serenades them in his tour bus (how romantic, remember the Rock of Love Bus?) and the scene is ooey-gooey … cheesy.

Froggy a.k.a. Kasey, a.k.a. Mr. Guard and Protect Your Heart,  then pulls another rabbit out of his possessive hat, bestowing on Vienna a little box with a ring. “My love for you is infinity,” he gushes, barely able to contain his excitement. Vienna, looking shocked, replies stoically, “I don’t want an engagement ring.”

Awkward.

Kasey turns purple and looks at her incredulously. He asks: “Why would you say it like that?” Later he tells the Bachelor Pad cameras: “She might not be there 100% for me emotionally.” Wow, maybe Kasey does actually have a clue! Vienna is all about Vienna. She’s merely toying with Kasey, using him as a weapon and an accessory. And like Melissa said, maybe Vienna really does still have feelings for Jake, and the reason she is trying to ruin him is so that no one else can have him. See, Melissa isn’t 100% crazy. Who knew?

Then, regardless of worrying if Vienna is as invested as he is, Kasey sings to his girl. What I would give to hear him sing “It’s Not Easy Being Green,” just once.

Meanwhile, Melissa and Erica are vying for Jake’s attention and it ends up getting catty. Melissa, being the unstable one with no self worth, breaks down quickly, again, and starts the “I’m going home, I can’t handle this!” game. She cries on Jake’s shoulder and has another nervous breakdown before being calmed. Jake later states that Melissa is seeking  ”anyone that gives her comfort.” He adds: “She wants to be loved and accepted more than she wants $250,000.”

Sad, yep, but so very true.

Before elimination Kasey and Jake shake hands, and for once, Kasey does it without a puffed chest.

The elimination ceremony was tense because the vote was close. So close, that we still don’t know who is staying and who is going. When it came time for Chris to give the final rose he said, “Kasey..”

…and the show was cut.

But does that mean that Jake Pavelka will be going home – OR – will Chris finish his sentence with, “Kasey…you will be going home tonight.” ?? Jake’s twitter account hints that might be the case. He tweeted: “Hahahaha!!!! Tune in to Bachelor Pad next week!”

And so the battle wages on. ABC milking the rivalry, because hey, even if you hate it, you’re watching and you know you secretly love it.
