James Franco is one hot tamale! Photo Credit: Terry Richardson, 2011
James Franco fans will be sad to hear the actor known for multitasking (just look at his Wikipedia!), has decided to drop out of his scheduled Broadway debut in a play called Sweet Bird of Youth.
Franco, who just took a break from promoting Rise of the Planet of the Apes, is currently on the set filming Oz: The Great and Powerful, which is scheduled to be released in 2013.
It seems Franco likes to bite off more than he can chew, because according to Entertainment Weekly, he has ditched the plan to act in Broadway’s Sweet Bird of Youth, a play written by the great Tennessee Williams.
Playing a very believable role as an ambitious and Hollywood-hungry gigolo named Chance Wayne, Franco was to star opposite Nicole Kidman, who was portraying Alexandra del Lago, an aging actress.
Oh, what’s another little project?
His promotion of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and before that Your Highness, along with his current work on the Oz film and continuing appearances on the soap opera General Hospital (and we can’t forget his ongoing schooling and artistic projects), just proves that the boy has time to SPARE! <sarcasm>
Well whatever he decides to contribute his ‘art’ to, I think, will end up being a quality piece of work. No matter how smug Franco comes off sometimes, his work never seems to disappoint…at least in my opinion.
