Just a couple of days ago (September 5 to be exact), the world celebrated what would have been Queen’s late singer Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday.

As you might have heard, even Google made a fancy doodle for him!  Well, musicians also wanted to pay their tribute, and that they did!

Some of the biggest names in the industry recorded mini video salutes to the legendary rock singer Mercury, who passed in 1991, including the Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, My Chemical Romance, and Fall Out Boy, reports MSN.com.

In Katy Perry’s tribute, she thanked Mercury for inspiring her, and said, “Without you, I wouldn’t be making music or doing what I do.”

Both Gerard Way, of MCR, and Taylor Hawkins of the Foos, had similar stories of Mercury influencing their talents.  In his video, Way called him “the most important frontman to [him] growing up”, and in similar form, Hawkins revealed, “I owe you everything,” also telling the late singer that the band missed and loved him.

Fall Out Boy’s lead singer Patrick Stump stated he was bummed out Mercury wasn’t alive to see the huge effect he had on his band’s music.

Also in the long list of celebs sending their love to Mercury included Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Pat Monahan of the band Train, Young The Giant, and wait for it….Miss Piggy!!!!

This diverse group of musicians hopefully made it a very special day for the dear and departed Mercury, and hopefully he was watching from above with a huge smile across his face and in his heart.

Check out the vids for yourself HERE and let us know what you think.  Which ones move you, and which ones could you do without?
