Seriously… WTF is this?!

Photos from the set of DARK SHADOWS, the latest Johnny Depp/Tim Burton collaboration adapting the famed vampire soap opera for the big screen, have begun to turn up online, and… once again… seriously, WTF is this?!

Johnny Depp is playing the role of Barnabas Collins, yet based on these images from Socialite Life, his character seems like a cross between the Joker and Powder. Dare I say, I actually prefer my vampires sparkly when compared to this?

I don’t want to say that DARK SHADOWS looks awful just yet, but… ah, screw it. Based on a couple of pictures taken completely out of context of the rest of the movie, DARK SHADOWS looks awful right now. I wasn’t looking forward to the newest Depp/Burton partnership as it is, following CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and ALICE IN WONDERLAND… but now I’m downright dreading it.

You know things aren’t looking good when the new TWILIGHT film BREAKING DAWN PART 1 holds more interest for you when you’re not a Twi-hard.
