Two days ago would have marked Amy Winehouse’s 28th birthday, and what a more appropriate way to celebrate than to have famous crooner Tony Bennett, one of her musical inspirations, release the full version of the video “Body and Soul”, showing the two making the classy jazz duet.
The video was shot at Abbey Road Studios in London, and portrays the soul singer looking the healthiest, and happiest I remember seeing her in the past several years. The song and footage were recorded on March 23rd, exactly four months before the songstress passed.
Any profits from the sale of the “Body and Soul” collaboration will be donated to the The Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was introduced to the public Wednesday, according to EW.com.
Regarding the organization, Amy’s mom clarified, “We want to give money to projects that make a direct difference. It is a source of great comfort to know that Amy would be proud of this and right behind it.”
It’s hard to believe, after watching this video, that Winehouse left us July 23…almost two months ago. She is and will be truly missed, and her bluesy legacy will forever hold strong in our hearts.
