The Foo Fighters Retaliate Against Westboro

The Foo Fighters fight back!

Can Dave Grohl and the band do any wrong at all?  Not in my book!

Rarely do you ever hear about the Foo Fighters mixing their business in music with subjects such as politics and/or religion, but if you step on their toes (I’m looking at you Westboro Baptist Cult Church members), then you better be prepared for a battle.

My bet is on the Foos, if you didn’t know already.

According to the Huffington Post, the infamous Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) decided against their Friday night norm (picketing our beloved soldier’s funerals, or spewing their disgusting hate of America, or anything that affiliates itself with homosexuality), and chose to instead protest against the Foo Fighters’ concert in Kansas City, Missouri.

Well, imagine their surprise when word caught on to the band, and the Foo’s showed up pre-concert (where the WBC’s picket was being held), rockin’ and rollin’ in the back of a truck in hickabilly garb, performing their song “Keep It Clean (Hot Buns)”.  Luckily, the music became the center of attention and stole the show away from the hatemongers.  Ha!

At a break in the song, singer Grohl declared, “God Bless America! It takes all kinds; I don’t care if you’re black or white or purple or green, whether you’re Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady gaga or Lady Antebellum. Men loving women and women loving men and men loving men and women loving women.”  Grohl finished with, “What I’d like to say is, God Bless America, y’all!”  Couldn’t have said it better myself.
