Who thought years later Paris Hilton would have the more promising future?
Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have two different community service experiences going on in resolving their legal issues.
You know things are looking pretty bad for you when Paris Hilton seems to be the more mature and responsible one in a line-up between her and Lindsay Lohan…? But that’s the case as both celebrities under judge’s orders to complete community service for their crimes against humanity (Lohan for misdemeanor theft, Hilton for cocaine possession) have two totally different tales about how they’re working to resolve those legal issues.
Hilton hasn’t just done her time, according to TMZ; she’s actually done more, going above and beyond what she was called upon to do. When appearing in Vegas for her progress report before the judge, Paris was able to report she had served 228 hours of community service, far more than the 200 that was initially commanded. She also completed an “intensive” substance abuse program AND paid her $2000 fine, closing the case and putting this issue in Hilton’s past entirely there… in the past. She’s free to move on with her life, of trying to stay relevant while making reality shows that no one wants to watch… but at least she’s taking positive steps to, for once, be seen in a positive light. This might be the only time these words come from me, so frame them, Paris… because it might never happen again – I’m proud of you, Paris. Excellent job.
The same can’t be said for Lindsay Lohan, who, according to Radar Online, has a whopping 380 hours of community service to complete at the Downtown Women’s Center and 100 hours at the Los Angeles County Morgue… yet has only managed to log about 60 hours in total at the former. Oh, and she finished her shoplifters awareness class… but that’s it.
On a side note, what exactly is a shoplifters awareness class? Do you honestly need a class to tell you that shoplifting is wrong? Or is this more that they teach you how to be aware of your surroundings in making attempts to shoplift, or maybe how to recognize other shoplifters who may be on the take?
In any event, Lohan is due for a progress report of her own on October 17, and her handlers are concerned that the judge is going to be none too happy and her lack of commitment to actually doing her community service. “Lindsay’s team is telling her she needs to log significant time to show the judge that she is working towards completing her hours, but she is ignoring them. Lindsay’s rationale is that she has a year to complete the service, so she isn’t concerned about it right now,” claims an insider source. “The judge has told Lindsay in the past that she will not accept any excuses whatsoever for her failure to complete her community service, period. If Lindsay was smart, she would work to get those hours done.”
Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? Or at least that you can procrastinate on until the last minute when you realize there are only 24 hours in any given day, and it’s impossible for complete 320 hours in a matter of two Red Bull-fueled days…?
Who would have thought that things would be looking so bleak for Lindsay Lohan at this point that Paris Hilton looks like a saint? Oh, what a strange world we live in…
