The Dr. Conrad Murray trial is underway for the wrongful death of Michael Jackson. Opening statements began Tuesday with Murray facing involuntary manslaughter charges. Dr. Conrad Murray was the doctor who administered the lethal dose of propofol that killed Michael Jackson.
The first day of the trial was creepy and disturbing as prosecution played an audio iPhone recording, made by Dr. Conrad Murray himself, of a drugged up Michael Jackson rambling about wanting to please his fans. Prosecutors also presented a death photo of Jackson, showing him thin, pale and deceased in a hospital bed.
The defense claims Michael Jackson caused his own death while Dr. Conrad Murray was out of the room. They are suggesting that Dr. Conrad Murray was trying to ween Jackson off propofol at the time of his death. However, an audio tape presented by prosecution, which was recorded by Murray on his iPhone, was played in court of a clearly drugged up Jackson a couple months before his death (May 2009). Only two weeks after the recording was made Dr. Conrad Murray ordered FOUR more GALLONS of the drug.
If convicted of involuntary manslaughter Dr. Conrad Murray faces four years in prison and will lose his medical license. Looks like he’ll get off easy no matter what.
