Gene Simmons and Shannon Tween kissing at their wedding (and apparently hitting the bottle!)
After living 28 ‘happily unmarried’ years and having two (now grown) children together, KISS’ Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have finally made it to the altar.
It all happened outside of the Beverly Hills Hotel Saturday night and People has confirmed it!
It’s been said that the new Mrs. donned an ivory Priscilla of Boston wedding dress (the first of her three gown changes), while carrying a bouquet of ivory roses down the aisle.
With more than 400 guests in attendance including Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher (who tweeted during the ceremony), the couple’s kids (Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19, who was the Maid of Honor), as well as KISS’ other members (Paul Stanley was apparently in the wedding party), the glitzy spectacle was a sight to be seen…and that’s not a mistake. You see, cameras were catching every second of it for the new season of the couple’s popular TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Earlier this year, Simmons, 62, proposed to Tweed, 54, while they vacationed in Belize (season 6 of their TV show), but her response was never revealed. Rumor had it that Tweed had eventually moved out of her and Simmon’s home, saying there was a “slim chance” the two would get back together.
Congrats to the newly married couple! Having been together for that long and only now finally taking the leap, I hope it works out well for them. If Mr. Simmons can keep his wandering eye in check, it just might work out, although the small superstitious/cynical devil on my shoulder tells me that as soon as they tied the knot (with the cameras rolling), their relationship began (continued?) a downward spiral… oh the reality TV show curse…
