Frances Bean Cobain Buys First Home

Frances Bean Cobain Buys First Home

Frances Bean Cobain, all grown up

Not many of my friends were able to buy a house at the young age of 19, let alone one that (almost) hits the $2M mark, but Frances Bean Cobain might be considered an exception.

The daughter and only child of rockstar/actress and troublemaker Courtney Love and her late husband Kurt Cobain of Nirvana fame, has purchased a mansion up in the Hollywood Hills, with the help of the inheritance Nirvana’s success secured for her, according to Daily Mail.

Designed by the German art director Carl Jules Weyl and built in 1930, the 3,350 square foot Spanish style house includes 4 bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms, along with keeping much of the “original architectural and decorative details such as hand-forged iron work, colorful decorative tiles, numerous stained and leaded glass windows, hand-stenciled wood beams, and vintage light fixtures and hardware”, as Real Estalker reports.  The final purchase price FBC paid for her first home was $1,890,000.

Frances Bean, who apparently has been estranged from mother Courtney Love since late 2009, has been busy promoting her art under the name “Fiddle Tim”, all the while attending New York’s artsy school Bard College.  She also had a brief job as a Rolling Stone intern.

It’s good to see FBC trying to find some stability in her life, a life that seems much less enviable then some of the other empty souled heiress’ we’re accustomed to seeing in Hollywood.  She’s turned into a gorgeous, self-aware, young woman that seems to be somewhat disciplined and motivated in the world of art, so kudos to her.  Spending her trust fund money on a home rather than ‘partying’ habits (that could have been unfortunately passed down to her by ways of genetics) is a step forward if ya ask me.  Good job Bean!
