Freddie Mercury Look-Alike Performs

Lady Gaga might have some stiff competition if she is gonna give being the new lead singer to Queen a go, because a man named Marc Martel has got both the voice and the looks for the part!

We recently reported that Queen guitarist Brian May let on that he and the band would definitely consider Lady Gaga as a top contender to become the band’s new lead singer.

After seeing a DVR’d Ellen DeGeneres Show from late last week, me thinks a man named Marc Martel, a YouTube sensation, might fit the bill even better.  Eerily sounding almost exactly like the late Freddie Mercury, Marc even shares similar facial features of the legend that passed away in 1991.

Marc, who has been in a Canadian Christian rock band called Downhere since 1999, has released a total of six major studio albums so far, according to the band’s Wikipedia page.

Ellen, who became awestruck after seeing Marc’s YouTube videos covering some of Queen’s hits, asked him to be on the show.  He performed Queen’s “Somebody to Love”, which you can check out below.
