October 11, 1970: Sophia Loren and her secretary leave the police station after searching through mug shots. The women were robbed the previous night by a gunman in Sophia’s apartment. The thief stole more than half a million in jewelry.
October 11, 1979: A 33-year-old Sylvester Stallone poses in a flashy plaid blazer and snazzy polyester brown shirt. In 1979 Stallone was starring in the sequel to the box office smash, Rocky. It would be two more years before he would star in Rocky III and First Blood. In 1979 Sly had been married to Sasha Czack for 5 years and they had their second child that year. They would go on to divorce in 1985. (Months later Sly would marry Brigitte Nielsen.)
October 11, 1986: Shirley MacLaine and Lana Turner attend the 31st Annual Thalians Ball on at Century Plaza Hotel. Lana Turner was 75 and Shirley was 52.
October 11, 1983: Dennis Quaid 29, poses after a live performance. In 1983 Quaid’s career was at a low boil but within a couple of years it would skyrocket. In 1983 Dennis had divorced his wife of four years, actress P.J. Soles. That same year he starred in Jaws 3-D, The Right Stuff and Tough Enough.
