Jon Hamm as Don Draper on the set of Mad Men, October 11, 2011
Oh, Don Draper, how we miss you.
It’s been a tough year for Mad Men fans who are having to wait 8-months longer than usual for the latest season to air. The good news is, had the show premiered in July as per usual, it would already be over. Bad news is that we still have to wait 5-months before we get to see the gorgeous, sophisticated yet highly-troubled Don Draper on our television screens. You can expect Mad Men Season 5 to premiere in March 2012.
To refresh your memory since it has been a full year since Season 4 ended:
Don pretty much crapped on Dr. Faye Miller, the one stable in his currently out-of-control world, and after an awkward one-night stand, ends up proposing to his cultured yet naive secretary, Megan. Way to pull a Roger Sterling, Don.
Betty’s life isn’t getting any less complicated either. She is packing up her family and moving out of the house that she shared with Don but now shares with her new husband. Betty still forbids Sally’s “boy” friend Glen from seeing her but after catching the two kids together in her home Betty freaks out, losing her you know what, to which little Glen replies: “Just because you’re sad doesn’t mean we all have to be sad.” Profound words from a kid.
Joan is pregnant, but what her husband doesn’t know is that it isn’t his child. Joan keeps the pregnancy a secret from all her friends and family, telling only her husband who is serving abroad.
Peggy is still fighting the powers that be and is determined to work her way up the corporate ladder in a man’s world.
