Universal Pictures debuts the red band teaser trailer for AMERICAN REUNION.
The careers of Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Mena Suvari and Shannon Elizabeth really haven’t gone anywhere since the theatrical releases of the AMERICAN PIE series stopped nearly a decade ago (it’s been eight years since AMERICAN WEDDING). So the next installment in the franchise, AMERICAN REUNION, isn’t just a chance to bring back all the original cast for a story that has the characters attending their 10-year high school reunion and show what they’ve been up to since, it’s an opportunity for some to resurrect their dead and rotting careers. Alyson Hannigan has a steady sitcom gig. Seann William Scott has headlined some movies. But for the rest of them, this is really it… and maybe there is some hope after Universal Pictures premiered the first teaser trailer for the film in red band form this morning… and it looks a whole lot like what made the original film so popular that we’re even getting a reunion sequel next year. They sure don’t waste any time in getting into getting off, but it gives you a clear sense of what Jim and his wife Michelle are up to all these years later, which isn’t much different than where we left them.
It feels like warm apple pie all over again.
