October 29th is the day burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese will be unveiling her “Muse” dress collection to the world, starting in Melbourne, Australia at Derby Day.

According to Dita’s latest press release, Von Teese designed the vintage-inspired dress line that will be limited edition and sold through David Jones, an Australian high-end department store chain.

The retro-influenced line will be comprised of five glamorous pieces, including dresses, which will incorporate couture detailing and grosgrain ribbon, and a tulle-layered trench coat.

What’s special about Dita’s creations is that her collection exhibits traditional seamstress attributes like in-built corsetry, silk Crepe de Chine lining, that result in silhouettes that ‘are carefully constructed to suit the female form’.

The press release states that Von Teese’s five pieces are “united by a classic colour- palette, which includes backstage black, ruby lips red and a stunning original rose print”, and will be available in (Australian) sizes 8 to 20 (U.S. sizes 4 to 16).

Talking about her “Muse” line, Von Teese says, “Offering a collection that caters to women of all sizes is very important to me,” adding, “Muse is designed to complement a multitude of body shapes, so every woman can celebrate her natural beauty and feel sexy in a gorgeous dress.”

Michele Hamdorf, founder and CEO of lime door brands, which is co-owner of the signature line, stated, “We are very excited to be partnering with a prestigious retailer like David Jones for the international launch of Dita Von Teese Muse and are currently in negotiations with a number of retailers in the United Kingdom, the USA, and Europe to continue expanding the brand.”

From the looks of Dita’s black “Muse” dress (above), I cannot wait to see the rest of the collection!
