“You see… it’s like like that time in UNDER SIEGE…”
Steven Seagal is sworn in as a full-time deputy along the Texas-Mexico border.
They might have feared him back around ABOVE THE LAW, but I have a hard time believing anyone fears Steven Seagal at this point after he made ON DEADLY GROUND. Seagal must believe otherwise, which is why he’s taking his ass-kicking ways to the Texas-Mexico border to serve as a full-time deputy with the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Department. Before you ask, no, this is not for another A&E reality show. Steven Seagal just really cares about keeping immigrants from crossing the border illegally, and is willing to pitch in and lend a hand.
According to the San Antonio Express, Seagal called in, lobbying for the job, and, after it was determined he wasn’t in it for the publicity, he filed the proper paperwork, and now he’s a working member of the force. He was sworn in last week and will assume full-time duties. Seagal does have about 20 years experience as a peacemaker, so this is nothing new for him.
As far as I can tell, everyone wins here. America is safe from people pouring over the border. Steven Seagal gets to do his part in serving his country. And none of us have to watch another Steven Seagal movie in the foreseeable future. Jackpot!
