Fred Durst, best known for being the frontman of the rock band Limp Bizkit, has recently signed a contract with CBS to co-produce and star in a sitcom about an aging musician that’s trying to balance his home and work life.

With classic Durst sarcasm/humor, the show’s working title is DouchebagHa!  Hope they keep that title, because it’s ‘winning’ in every sense.

MTV reports that Matthew Carlson (a writer for Mr. Sunshine) is writing the script, and will also be the show’s executive producer.

Durst is not a total newbie to acting, as he has appeared in several films in cameo parts including 2001’s Zoolander, 2003’s Pauly Shore is Dead, and 2005’s Revelations, just to name a few.  He’s also been in at least a dozen music videos, from bands other than his own, according to Wikipedia.  As for television, the “Nookie” singer has had small parts in 2002’s Fastlane, and 2008’s House M.D.

Durst has been married twice (although he is not currently), and has two kids, a daughter Adriana and a son Dallas.  He has also been a rock musician since 1995, so I can see him relating to the character he is set to play.

You don’t hear much about Limp Bizkit anymore, even though they are still around, so I think this will be a good change for him.  Will you be watching Douchebag??
