Survivor Africa’s Ethan Zohn’s cancer is back
Ethan Zohn has been in remission from cancer for nearly two years now, but sadly on September 14th, he was told that the Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is back.
Zohn, who was the winner of the CBS reality show Survivor: Africa, will celebrate his 38th birthday on November 12th.
Talking to People magazine, Ethan Zohn opened up about his latest cancer battle: “I don’t want fear or cancer to define me, but it’s always in the back of your mind. It’s localized in my lung area. But it’s good that it’s not all over my body.”
Zohn’s girlfriend Jenna Morasca, winner of Survivor: The Amazon, has been by his side every step of the way. The couple have been together for 8 years and recently appeared on the reality adventure show, The Amazing Race.
Zohn has also had incredible support from his family. After his 12-weeks of treatment he is hoping to undergo a stem-cell transplant, and one of his brothers will be the donor. “But the doctors won’t tell me which one,” Zohn says. “They didn’t want me to start treating one differently than the other. Of course my whole family is taking bets on who it is.”
Despite the terrible news, Zohn is keeping a positive attitude and staying fit. He plans on running the New York marathon on November 6th, and will raise money for HIV/AIDS awareness.
Wishing you the best, Ethan. Cancer sucks!
