Lionsgate premiered the new trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES this morning on GOOD MORNING AMERICA with co-star Josh Hutcherson introducing the new footage. THE HUNGER GAMES, the adaptation of the first installment of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling trilogy, is set for release on March 23, 2012, starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. Hutcherson takes the role of Peeta Mellark and Miley Cyrus’ current beau Liam Hemsworth plays Gale Hawthorne.
The film brings together a quality cast to flush out the rest of the world of Panem, featuring the likes of Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland and more. Don’t fear any spoilers from this longer view of THE HUNGER GAMES, as it’s set up to more give you an idea of how the Games work, saving everything that happens beyond their start for much much later. But the build is definitely enough here to get you interested if you haven’t cracked open the pages to the first novel.
