Sandusky Admits to “Horsing Around”

Bob Costas/ Jerry Sandusky interview video

Disgraced Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky was grilled by Bob Costas in an exclusive interview airing on NBC last night, leading some to question Sandusky’s attorney in the case.

Why would Sandusky’s lawyer allow his client to interview with Bob Costas in front of the nation when Sandusky is completely pitiful at answering questions? Well, I guess you can’t accuse Sandusky of reciting prepared answers. His answers were in fact, chilling and unconvincing of his innocence. I’ve transcripted Sandusky’s responses to Bob Costas, which you can listen to in the interview clip above.

Bob Costas: “Any reasonable person says where there’s this much smoke, there must be plenty of fire. What do you say?”

Jerry Sandusky: “I say that I am innocent of those charges.”

Costas: ”Innocent? Completely innocent and falsely accused in every aspect?”

Now here is the part where you would expect Jerry Sandusky’s coaching to kick in. No, I’m not talking about football coaching, I’m talking the coaching by his supposed attorney. An attorney who he himself impregnated an underage girl some years ago. They must have skipped the part where Jerry Sandusky shouldn’t incriminate himself, or maybe Sandusky simply thinks he can stand on his own two feet. As we see, he is no match for Bob Costas. Hell, forget Costas, anyone could have gotten this information out of him it seems.

Sandusky: “Well I can say that I have done some of those things….”

Was that an admission? Not quite… he continues….

Sandusky: “I have horsed around with kids, I have showered after workouts, I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact. But, um so if you look at it that way there are things that would be accurate.”

Costas: “Are you denying that you had any sexual contact with these underage boys?”

Sandusky: “Yes, I am.”

Costas: “Never touched their genitals never engaged in oral sex…”

Sandusky: “Right.”

The interview continues to get creepier and Jerry Sandusky’s cool, calm voice changes when Bob Costas brings up eye witness accounts. Then the former coach’s voice gets gravely and low. “You’d have to ask them,” he replies with each account.

Did Jerry Sandusky’s interview with Bob Costas help or hurt his case? I think the answer here is obvious, whether he is guilty or not. But IF he’s not, as Bob Costas said, he is the “unluckiest and most persecuted man that any of us has ever heard about.”
