Gwen Stefani at her Harajuku Mini launch party on 11/12/11
Stylish mothers everywhere can let out a sigh of relief, because Harajuku Mini, the much anticipated kids fashion line from Gwen Stefani, hit Target stores Sunday.
The always-fashionable songstress/fashion designer and mother of two has had this in the works for some time, and with her past (and current) success in designing clothes, I’m pretty sure this is gonna be another slam dunk for her.
The line, which was inspired by Stefani’s fascination with Tokyo’s Harajuku culture, and is a common theme in her fashion style and music, consists of 80 pieces that include funky and colorful items like plaid pants for boys, skinny jeans, logo tees, dresses and footwear. The clothing is also budget-friendly, which is a plus if you ask me!
To celebrate the November 13th launch date for the clothing line, Stefani, 42, threw a fashion bash the day before (Saturday) at the Jim Henson studios in Los Angeles, which according to tooFab.com, was turned into a Harajuku wonderland, complete with a sushi bar, artsy walls decorated with graffiti, and a cutesy catwalk.
As you might expect, some A-list mamas and papas (and their kids) came out to support Stefani and the launch of her new line, including Selma Blair, Maya Rudolph, Brooke Burke and Robin Thicke.
