MGMT Release Video For Bauhaus Cover

MGMT

A little over a month ago MGMT released a well received 20-track compilation album called LateNightTales, that includes various, respected artists such as The Velvet Underground, Julian Cope, and Spaceman 3, along with a very special cover of their own, Bauhaus’ 1982 hit “All We Ever Wanted Was Everything”.

As a longtime Bauhaus and Peter Murphy fanatic (17 years and counting), naturally I was curious to hear MGMT’s rendition, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. The band captures the moodiness of the song, and pays it much deserved respect.

Well, according to Stereogum, MGMT has now added an animated video to accompany the song, which Ned Wenlock directed.  The video flows well with the song, and sort of lightens it up a bit.

Check it out below, followed by Bauhaus’ version and let us know what you think!
