Perry Farrell
Perry Farrell might have made some enemies recently after stating that Brazilian music fans are “uneducated about music” in an interview he did with Brazil’s biggest newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, but as they say, don’t believe everything that you read.
Regarding the recent Lollapalooza Brazil pre-sale chaos (the website crashed after just minutes and buyer’s personal info was published online by hackers), the Jane’s Addiction singer tried to explain the incident by saying the country was not used to large-scale music festivals like Lollapalooza, therefore they weren’t prepared.
He told Rolling Stone Brazil (via Rolling Stone.com), “I think I’m working with good people. They should know what they are doing. They sell tickets to football matches!”
Once the story hit the web, and some angered fans took to their Twitter accounts to speak their minds about Farrell’s statement (even making him a trending topic), Farrell questioned if he had said the right thing. He said, “My wife took me to Twitter. I was going crazy,” adding, “I said, ‘My God, Etty, they hate me! They are very angry with me. I messed up?’”
To clear the air, Farrell posted some reassuring tweets from his own account, to tell the public he was indeed misquoted. Check out his Twitter feed below:

I’m gonna go with “Team Farrell” on this one, although I don’t know exactly what he was trying to say with his initial quote to the magazine. Sometimes there are just some things that get lost in translation I guess.
What do you all think? Was Farrell misquoted?
Well, there are a lot of musical schools thru out the land. Better than Berkeley in Boston. Most Brazilian children, after they play in the squalid dumps attend at least 18 hours a week of classic, jazz with a touch of samba. This way, they can entertain the cocaine manufacturers and the deforesters. They play violins and perhaps won’t mind so much when they are picked for to do child prostitution.
So Perry Farrell, I would stick with your original statement, be a man and tell the f***ing truth.
