Doug Hutchison drops out of a movie role, because he felt it was too close to his own reality of marrying a teenager.

How’s this for a slice of fried gold? Doug Hutchison, husband to teen attention whore Courtney Stodden, has pulled out of a movie, because his role would have called for his character to become romantically involved with a teenager. Seriously… sometimes I can’t make this stuff up.

Radar Online reports that Hutchison, whose main acting credits include a supporting role in THE GREEN MILE and a secondary part on LOST, dropped out of the film THE GENESIS OF LINCOLN where he would have played a director who has a “strange and scandalous relationship with the teenage pop star he casts” (according to the film’s production company Lost Colony Entertainment). “I know it’s gonna surprise a lot of people to hear this, but Doug was legitimately concerned about some of the sexual content and how people might not be able to separate who he is as a person from the character he was playing,” claims writer/director/producer Richard O’Sullivan.

So let me get this straight… Doug Hutchison marries a 16-year-old, and then refuses to act in movies where he might also be romantically involved with a 16-year-old, because he doesn’t want us to get confused that it’s not him on the screen, but a character he’s playing…? I’d say give people some credit, but then again there were paying customers for JACK AND JILL, so perhaps he’s right to question the intelligence of the masses. Then again, he’s also assuming people want to see this movie in the first place.

Isn’t it weird how I wrote a whole story on Doug Hutchison, who you wouldn’t know from your mailman, if not for his choice of young blonde brides? ‘Tis a shame.
