Model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs had just exited a small plane at a private airport near Dallas, Texas on Saturday night when a horrific accident happened.
Scruggs, who’s also worked in wardrobe on the set of Gossip Girl, somehow walked right into the airplane’s running propeller, severing Scruggs’ left hand and causing damage to her shoulder, head and brain. She had just taken a flight to see Christmas lights from the sky.
Lauren Scruggs‘ parents have since spoken with ABC (video above) and have reported the 23-year-old model is still in the Intensive Care Unit despite having had numerous surgeries. Scruggs’ mother was at the airport when the propeller accident happened and says she was able to hold her baby girl immediately after the traumatic incident. “That was the toughest part of all. Just seeing her laying there, and waiting for the help.”
Her father Jeff Scruggs told reporters through tears, “I asked her of she could hear me and squeeze my hand and she did.”
