Trent Reznor and Karen O
Trent Reznor has made a name for himself with his work on the soundtracks of some very popular cult classic movies, like the 90s hits Natural Born Killers and Lost Highway, and most recently, The Social Network, and now with the upcoming release of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, he nails it again.
For The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack, Trent Reznor again worked with Atticus Ross (they did The Social Network soundtrack together, which earned them an Academy Award last year), and together, the two supposedly have been able to capture the creepy mysteriousness that director David Fincher contributed to the movie itself. Fincher also collaborated with the two musicians on The Social Network.
Tight family, they are!
Regarding the soundtrack, Reznor had this to say, “For the last fourteen months Atticus and I have been hard at work on David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers.”
Although the movie itself hasn’t been released yet, the soundtrack has (digitally), and you can download it immediately at iTunes.
Check out Reznor’s cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song”, which features the Yeah Yeah Yeahs lead singer Karen O. The video was created by director Fincher for the title sequence of the film. Tell us what you think!
