Tom Cruise in First Rock Of Ages Trailer

Warner Bros. premieres the first trailer for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES.

The first trailer for ROCK OF AGES was released this afternoon by Warner Bros., with Tom Cruise center stage as the aging rock star Stacee Jaxx in the film adaptation of the successful Broadway musical. Adam Shankman (HAIRSPRAY) directs a cast that features Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Ackerman, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston and Alec Baldwin belting out 80s rock from Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more.

If you’re expecting to see Cruise in all of his rock star glory though, you might be a little let down, as the trailer only alludes to him taking the mic to showcase his musical talent. You’ll probably have to wait until a later trailer to get even the slightest taste, although it wouldn’t surprise me at all for the studio to make you pay your money to the box office on June 1, 2012 to witness it… because, after all, isn’t that really the draw to this musical?

Are you pumped to rock out for ROCK OF AGES? Or is there something left to be desired from this first look?
