Revolver’s ‘Mega 100th Issue’
The “Mega 100th Issue” of Revolver magazine bares a bold title of the “100 Greatest Living Rock Stars”, and features some hard-living rock stars that have rocked our socks off for years, made headlines, and have lived to tell about it.
Revolver, which Billboard recently announced was the “#1 place to get maximum exposure as a hard-rock artist”, definitely gave some artists exposure on the cover of this particular issue…22 to be exact. Just check out the picture above.
You’ve got Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Kiss’ Gene Simmons, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Marilyn Manson, Slash, Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M.’s Nikki Sixx, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows, and Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro to name a few.
Inside you will find many many more names that will ring familiar to you, and what’s cool is that the list includes older, more established rockers as well as some that are newer to the scene.
According to Revolver, “Included in the feature are rock star tips and tales from Gene Simmons, Chris Cornell, Bret Michaels and Dave Navarro, among others.”
Also available in the issue is Revolver’s Top 20 albums of 2011, which gives some major credit to Korn’s “controversial dubstep-infused record”, The Path of Totality, as being on top. Also excited that the Foo Fighter’s Wasting Light made the cut.
And another perk to this special issue is a download code for 15 free songs including tracks by Black Label Society, Hatebreed, and High on Fire, a holiday gift guide “with the perfect items for the rockers on your list”, and a commemorative fold-out poster of late, great Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell.
