Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez decided to cancel two of her concerts this weekend so that she could deal with what her rep called a “family emergency”.
E! Online reports that the 19-year-old’s mother apparently suffered a miscarriage Thursday. Apparently Gomez was attending Power 106’s Cali Christmas concert in L.A. Thursday night when she found out about the horrible news. She immediately left to rush home to see her family. Gomez took to her Twitter late last month to announce that her mom and stepdad were expecting their first child together.
Selena, who planned on perform at the B96 Jingle Bash 2011 at the Allstate Arena near Chicago Friday and at the 106.1 KISS FM Jingle Bell Bash at the WaMu Theater in Seattle Saturday night, subsequently cancelled the gigs following the tragic news.
Unfortunately, times have been trying for Miss Gomez lately. Not only is she dealing with her family’s recent emergency, she also has had to deal with safety issues.
Thomas Brodnicki, who was charged last month for ‘felony stalking’, and who claims he has had conversations with God about killing the Wizards of Waverly Place star, just had the charges dismissed.
According to TMZ, the judge working on the case has refused to issue the permanent restraining order (that Gomez has asked for) until he appears in court to defend himself.
The twister to this whole case is that the sick stalker himself has promised that if he’s left free, he will for sure be a serious threat to Gomez. After Brodnicki was picked up on a psychiatric hold last month and filing a sworn declaration stating to the judge that he didn’t want to attend his January court hearing, Brodnicki warned, “I believe that a restraining order should be issued against me to prevent me from trying to contact Selena Gomez”, adding, “I do not wish to object to the restraining order against me because I know it is the only thing that will make me stay away from Selena.”
Hopefully authorities take Brodnicki’s words to heart and keep him out of society for now, until he gets the help he needs (and is asking for).
As for Selena, love and prayers go out to her and her family at these trying times….
I love Selena, and i know she was very excited about the baby news, so I am sure she is quite upset over this new development. In other news, get a new judge for that case! what a lame ass.
