The new trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES has been released by Warner Bros.
In addition to the six-minute prologue for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, which Warner Bros. showed before 70mm IMAX prints of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL this past weekend, there was a brand spankin’ new trailer for the film attached to prints of the studios’ own holiday tent pole flick, SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS. I guess they needed to toss in some extra incentive for you to come out and see Robert Downey Jr. as the famed detective. If you choose to keep your money pocketed and avoid such a mediocre film, fear not, for Warner Bros. has given you a crystal clear HD-version of the trailer online to watch from the comfort of your own home or office chair or phone or wherever you are.
There’s surprisingly a good deal of Anne Hathaway on display here as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and, while we only get some glimpses of Tom Hardy as Bane, it’s his destruction that speaks well enough for him that his muffled voice simply feels like an inconvenience.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES lands in theatres on July 20, 2012, so you might want to figure out when those tickets are going to be going on-sale, because I’m expecting a line around the block for midnight and opening day shows.
