Last photo? Joe Bodolai, writer/producer dies of apparent suicide in Hollywood
The holidays are a very tough time for a lot of people and it seems Joe Bodolai, 63, decided this was his time to throw in the towel.
“I’m alone this year and am volunteering serving Christmas dinner to the homeless. Perhaps I will be one, but I love all of you and if I make it to next year let’s make it a morally, spiritually, better and funnier year,” he wrote as the last post on his Facebook page.
On December 22nd Joe Bodolai posted a blog entry that had friends wondering if it was the end for Joe. The entry made it painfully obvious Joe was having suicidal thoughts, but the piece was well thought out. If you could put Joe Bodolai on a piece of paper, this was how you would do it. It was titled, “If This Were Your Last Day Alive What Would You Do?” In it he talks about things in his life that he is proud of, and some very deep, troubling revelations that may have destroyed him.
Joe Bodolai had apparently been staying at the hotel for more than a week. After doing some research I found that Joe died at a Motel 6. Both Gatorade and Antifreeze were found in the room and it is believed that Bodolai chose to ingest the deadly substance.
Joe Bodolai was a Canadian writer and producer who worked on SNL, The Kids in the Hall and It’s Only Rock n’ Roll, Comics! He also co-wrote the first draft of Wayne’s World, which starred Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey.
He leaves behind an ex-wife, Bianca, who he says was the love of his life, and two grown sons whom he was very proud of.
Hopefully Joe is at peace now, and our thoughts go out to everyone who knew and loved him.
