Katy Perry and Russell Brand, do holiday troubles spell divorce? 

After a “massive fight” Katy Perry and Russell Brand opted to spend the holidays apart – but is a divorce coming for these two in 2012?

Having only been married a year, odd couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand seem to be having problems in their marriage already. According to Us Weekly Katy decided to spend the holidays with friends in Kauai instead of flying her family to London to spend the holidays with Russell after the huge spat. 

A source told Us magazine: “They had a massive fight. She was like, ‘F— you. I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, f— you too.’”

Katy was also snapped without her wedding ring while swimming in Kauai. Was she protecting her ring from being lost in the ocean, or is it a sign of distress in her marriage?

If the source’s information holds true, trouble could be brewing in paradise. Of course everyone who has ever been married knows it takes two to make it work, and you can never just walk (or fly) away from your problems lest they fester and multiply, often leading to divorce. If these two really want to make it work there is going to have to be some give and take, and as the Nesquik bunny always says, “patience is a virtue.”

Katy’s main concern about Russell is reportedly his lack of respect for Katy’s parent’s Christian beliefs and he’s not particularly fond of her friends. Sorry Russell, but when you get married, you marry the whole damn crew. That’s just the beauty of marriage, heh.

Although a divorce isn’t in the works at this time, Katy and Russell have some serious work to do to make their relationship last. Spending Christmas apart after your one-year anniversary is not a good start, kids. So get to work.
