Madonna looking somewhat classy, despite those arms (and hidden hands)
There was no escaping the drama involving Madonna and Elton John at last night’s Golden Globe Awards, with the long-going feud they’ve had, it was bound to be between the two musical icons.
Ever since Elton John famously accused Madge of lip-syncing on stage in 2004, and probably even prior to that, the two catty music legends have famously feuded, but this time a third party was in the mix.
John’s husband of six years and partner of almost 20 years, David Furnish, spoke up about his thoughts on the Material Girl snagging the gong for Best Original Song over John at the awards show, by taking to his Facebook page.
“Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”
Apparently, John too, made some sour remarks about the ‘one that loathes hydrangeas’, saying before the show that she had no “f**kin’ chance” of winning.
Was John and Furnish alone with their surprise of Madonna’s win? I was sure stunned. The first thought that popped in my head as she accepted the award was “this was rigged”. What has she done in the last several years that’s been remarkable on an artist level (or personal really)? Not much in my opinion.
I do have to say though that I loved the dress she wore last night, but you know a stylist picked that out for her.
As for her recent snooty remarks about Gaga, she just sounds like a bitter woman who is not aging gracefully, and who can’t deal with growing older in Hollywood…or in London, or New York, or wherever she is laying her spiteful head these days.
Even though it’s what we’ve come to expect from her, it doesn’t make it any more bearable.
So Team John and Furnish on this one.
The golden globes are a popularity contest….nothing more.
Ugh… I “LOATHE” this woman. I had to turn the Globes off and cool down for 10 minutes after she won. Gross, and I also thought her dress was horrible and quite ill fitting.
3 things to say: 1. i do think that Gaga ripped off “Express Yourself” (and that is my professional DJ opinion), but talking about it a whole year later just makes madge sound bitter and desperate. 2. she is ruining the Super Bowl, and 3. I agree with David :)
