Mark Wahlberg Says Sorry For 9/11 Comments

Mark Wahlberg has issued an apology…will you forgive him?

With the way people have reacted to Mark Wahlberg’s recent comments regarding 9/11 and how he would have gone about fighting the terrorists differently on Flight 93, it was inevitable that there was going to be a public apology coming out soon.

These days, in this world of strict political correctness, everybody, especially celebrities, political figures or anyone in the spotlight, must be on guard about what they say, and how they say it, and Marky Mark is no different.

I ‘get’ why some people could have been offended by what Wahlberg said, but when it comes down to it, I think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion BIG time. Assuming his words weren’t taken out of context, I think his comment weren’t the most sensitive thing to jump out of his mouth, but that being said, I do not think he had any ill intentions.

Well, rather quickly, Wahlberg has gotten word of the outrage this has caused some people and has already issued a statement apologizing for it. In it he says, “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.”

With a straightforward apology like that, which sounds like he could have actually written it himself (gasp!), I hope everyone can let this one go. Nobody is perfect…and that includes celebrities.
