Sarah Burke Dies After Accident

Sarah loses her battle to stay alive 

Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke has died nine days after a terrible skiing accident.

On January 10, Sarah, 29, crashed while training in Utah. Shortly after the accident she went into cardiac arrest and paramedics had to resuscitate her. Then came major surgery … then life support. Sadly nothing could save her and she died Thursday.

Sarah grew up in Midland, Ontario, Canada and later resided in Whistler. In 2005 she won gold at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships and also scored gold at the X Games in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Sarah Burke was listed as #91 on the FHM‘s 100 Sexiest Women in 2006.

Sarah is survived by her husband and freestyle skier Rory Bushfield.
