Puppy Bowl VIII Starting Lineup Announced!

After reading about Animal Planet’s annual Puppy Bowl 2012, my February 5th doesn’t seem so gloomy.

It’s a little embarrassing to admit I usually want nothing to do with anything sports-related unless it has to do with ice hockey, and specifically my team (Go Sharks!), but it’s true. Time and time again I’ve tried to get into football along with other sports but sadly, to no avail.

So obviously Super Bowl is not one of my favorite ‘holidays’, until NOW.

As a huge animal lover, I can’t believe I have never heard of Puppy Bowl, but I found that it’s an annual television special that mimics the actual American football game, but with puppies playing inside a stadium-decorated room, with commentary on their actions. It all started in 2005, y’all, and it’s been pretty successful. Just last year, over 9 million people tuned in.

So anyway, while some (most?) people will be tuning into their New York Giants vs. New England Patriots game (Super Bowl XLVI), I’ll be nerding out to the Puppy Bowl VIII…okay, I’ll probably DVR it, but whatever.
