Matthew Broderick back as Ferris Bueller
Twenty-five years after Ferris Bueller was released in theaters, Matthew Broderick is back as Bueller in this new, two-and-a-half minute Super Bowl commercial. See it here (above) before it airs during the big game.
I love, love, love this new commercial! It’s fun to see Matthew bring back the cocky character even if he is 25-years older and 30-pounds heavier. This commercial reminds me of my intense love for this movie and all of its characters when I was in High School. However, the addition of Cameron Frye could have elevated it from good to excellent. Whatever happened to him anyway?
“When Cameron was in Egypt land….”
Of course there was the beautiful Sloane Peterson, mature for her age, smooth talking, and far too beautiful for Ferris. Ferris’ sister, played by Jennifer Gray, who was ferociously intent on busting Ferris for skipping school, as was the principal Ed Rooney, played by the creepy Jeffrey Jones. And of course, don’t forget Charlie Sheen as the good-looking but gacked-out drug guy in the police station.
I will revisit this flick any day, in fact, I might just have to watch it tonight after all this talking about it. It’s been years, but the fact that I have probably seen it hundreds of times makes up for it.
