Drew Barrymore Adopts With Fiancé

Will Kopelman and Drew Barrymore — These two need to procreate

I always thought Drew Barrymore would be a good mom, and she’s finally taken the leap, by adopting a puppy with her fiancé Will Kopelman.

Apparently Twilight star Nikki Reed and her new hubby, last season’s American Idol contestant Paul McDonald (he does a mean Rod Stewart!), took in a litter of puppies to foster earlier this month that were left at a Los Angeles animal shelter.

The brood was then picked up by Shannon von Roemer (owner of the rescue pet store called Bark N’ Bitches), and upon visiting the shop this weekend, Barrymore and Kopelman fell in love with one lucky pup named Biscuit.

Von Roemer recounts the story to WENN, “I know they were interested in the little boy puppy all along, but they wanted to come in and get a sense of the dog’s personality and make sure it would get along with their other dog.”

Proud of the fact Barrymore chose to adopt rather than purchase a purebred, she says, “That is just who Drew is – she has always been an amazing advocate for shelter dogs and I am just so proud that she chose to adopt a puppy from my store!”

Seriously, Drew needs to be a mama to human babies as well. Yeah, she’s a little fickle on the relationship front, but you can tell she would love some kiddos unconditionally…and I’m rooting for her and Will. Hopefully this will be the romance that sticks for her. Fingers crossed.
