Frances Bean’s Deposition Exposed

After being awarded a restraining order against her mother Courtney Love in 2009, Frances Bean Cobain has been able to keep a pretty low profile, along with keeping the details about said court order under wraps, until now.

The Fix has gotten a hold of a court document that’s dated December 10th, 2009, that reveals what we probably thought we knew, yet hoped we didn’t, about her mom and the living situation she endured before she got the hellz outta there.

Talking about drugs, death, hoarding, and the exes (of her mother’s) she witnessed, Frances recounts in the deposition, “[Love] has taken drugs for as long as I can remember. She basically exists now on…Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes”, adding, “She rarely eats… She often falls asleep in her bed while she is smoking, and I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times) that will threaten our lives.”

In writing, Frances, 19, admits her mother once dragged her to her ex-boyfriend’s house (James Barber) while she sat in a cab, where she witnessed Courtney acting like a psycho (my words, not hers, and not the first time she endured this!).

Bean says, “She took me in a taxi to his house in the middle of the night, and from outside the house, in her bare feet, she screamed at him, threw rocks at the house, and threatened to burn his house down.” She adds, “His children were inside the house, but that did not stop my mother.”

The “Bean” goes on to say she dealt with other situations nobody’s daughter should have to, including Courtney threatening to jump off a balcony, incessant hoarding, as well as personal pets dying due to her mother’s ‘easily accessible’ stash of prescription pills.

Good lawd! This poor girl has seen things nobody should EVER see in their life…or in their nightmares for that matter!

As a longtime fan of Courtney’s music (maybe I should say with a bit more shame), I cannot imagine what it’s like being a part of her family…let along her daughter, for that matter. It makes me think of the song her dad (Kurt Cobain) wrote (“Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle”), where he sings, “She’ll come back as fire, And burn all the liars, leave a blanket of ash on the ground”.

I think Frances is stronger than we know…
