JOANNE gets terrible review
Media and all press were prohibited from the grand opening but at least one reporter for the NY Post did manage to get in. What he wrote was not even a bad review, but a scathing review, of the new, much-hyped, restaurant owned by the superstar’s creators.
You don’t expect a brand-new eatery to be running on all cylinders. But Joanne, owned by the pop superstar’s parents, last night was running mainly on acrid-smelling burnt vinegar wafting intermittently through the raucous dining room.
Half-expecting to be kicked out of the place at its no-press-allowed debut, I plotted where we’d go for dinner nearby if we got the boot. Alas, no such luck — and thus began a 2 1/2-hour meal that seemed like as many days.
You can read his entire review of the joint here.
My advice to the author Steve Cuozzo would be to maybe wait a week or two to effectively review a restaurant, whether it be owned by Gaga’s parents or some Joe Blow. Give the staff a chance anyhow, geeze. How many of you remember feeling completely amiss your first day on the job? All of you! So the fact that Cuozzo is running out, “sneaking in” the establishment then writing a pisspoor review really isn’t fair. Why do you think they asked for no media for the opening? At least be fair Steve, and go back in a month then review it a second time, then maybe it won’t come across as so sensationalistic and bitchy.
