Johnny Cash museum comin’ to Nashville soon!
Owner Bill Miller, who has a pretty hefty array of memorabilia of the iconic country singer and guitarist’s, will run the museum. Some of the items included in the collection were donated by Cash’s family, along with pieces from the House of Cash, a museum dedicated to the singer that was successful and running in Henderson, Tennessee until 1999.
The new exhibition will be located right on Nashville’s main strip, Lower Broadway, or as Cash’s son John Carter Cash says, “right in the middle of the hubbub”. Cash’s daughter, Rosanne Cash, said about Miller, “He’s been an incredible supporter of my dad and one of the largest collectors of memorabilia. If anybody has the whole structure to put up a museum, he does. So I have a lot of trust in him and I think it’s great at this point. I think he’ll do something with dignity and class that’s historically important, not some kitschy thing. I’m very interested in seeing what he does.”
Cash passed away at the age of 71 in 2003, but his memory still lives on, spanning all generations. On February 26th he would have turned 80.
Oh my, did this make my vacation trifecta complete. Someday in the near future, I would love to take a trip to Tennessee to visit Graceland, then Dollywood, followed by the great Johnny Cash museum, but it doesn’t have to be in that order. Americana galore!
