Whitney Houston’s Funeral: New Hope Baptist Church

Newark New Jersey’s New Hope Baptist Church 

Whitney Houston‘s funeral will be held at the very church where she first discovered her love for singing, the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark.

It is also where the funeral for Whitney’s father took place back in 2003.

On Monday night Whitney’s mother Cissy had her daughter’s body flown to a funeral home in the singer’s hometown of Newark. She was flown in on a private plane owned by Tyler Perry. Cissy has planned Whitney’s funeral services for noon on Saturday, February 18, 2012. There is rumor of a possible wake beforehand as well.

The funeral will be a private one, with only family and friends of Whitney Houston attending. The church only has a capacity of 300, so it’s safe to say only those closest to the star will attend. You can visit Newark’s New Hope Baptist Church website HERE.
