Jack White Debuting Solo Act On SNL

Jack White doing his best “Benny and Joon” impression

Jack White will be using television as a tool to help him re-introduce himself to the world as a solo artist next month.

Appearing on Saturday Night Live on March 3rd as the musical act (alongside host Lindsay Lohan), White will use the time slot as an opportunity to promote his upcoming solo album Blunderbuss (due out April 23rd), which he produced and recorded at his Third Man Records studio in Nashville, Tennessee. The performance will prepare the former White Stripes singer for his first solo tour, which he’ll embark on starting March 10th.

Regarding the album, White says it’s a record he “couldn’t have released until now”. He says, “I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

Not only does White’s music and voice appeal to me, I love his whole style. He’s such a quirky character, and he has undeniable talent. I cannot wait until this album is released, and I will be definitely be tuning in to see SNL…not just for his performance, but to see the (re)making or breaking of Lohan!
